Is it easy to clean a WebbShade?

Yes. The shades can be cleaned and disinfected right in the window using the same cleaning compounds that your housekeeping or facilities staff is using on your countertops. In most cases, vacuuming every six months is all the cleaning they need.

What about infection control concerns?

All WebbShade fabrics are GreenGuard certified for indoor air quality. We also only use fabrics rated ASTM G21 (for resistance to the following organisms: Aspergillus Niger, Aureobasidium Pullulans, Chaetomium Globosum, Penicillium Funiculosum, and Trichoderma Virens A) as well ast ASTM G22 to ensure no growth for Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Staphylococcus Aureus. The antimicrobial properties emanate from the yarn itself and are throughout the fabric.

As an added benefit, both WebbLok and WebbGlide are designed to be cleaned right in the window with the same cleaning agents you currently use.

Are WebbShades safe for children or at-risk areas?

Yes. Both the WebbLok (formerly Level-Lok) and WebbGlide shades use a completely cordless operating system, designed to stay in the window, eliminating any cords or wands which could pose life threatening dangers to a child or an individual with limited capacity to know they are at risk. Independently tested, the WebbLok WebbShade has routinely passed The Joint Commission inspections in a variety of behavioral health and child care areas nationwide.

How does a WebbLok (formerly Level-Lok) operate?

The cordless operation uses non-looping finger clips operated at the bottom of the WebbLok (formerly Level-Lok). You simply squeeze the clips and the shade lifts and locks into pre-determined positions on the guide tracks. The WebbLok is user-friendly and simple to operate. CLICK HERE to watch the video.

Why do WebbLok shades continue to operate so well after many years of use?

The “automatic leveling system” achieved by WebbShade’s specially designed aluminum guide tracks automatically place the shade in a level position when operated, preventing the shade from being twisted or operated incorrectly. Backed with a 15 year warranty, this allows the product to be operated easily and repeatedly for many years without damaging the system.

Why does WebbShade refer to WebbLok shades as virtually indestructible in high abuse facilities?

High abuse environments such as behavioral health, developmentally disabled and juvenile detention facilities require a product that’s built tough enough to withstand possible hostile treatment and heavy use on a daily basis. At-risk clients can pull on cords and wands, and even pull slatted blinds completely off the ceiling. WebbLok eliminates this possibility completely. The shade itself can even be pulled out and will snap right back into place.

We have security screens on our lock-down unit windows. Is this a problem?

No. WebbLoks can be installed directly onto security screens in lock-down wards without impairing the screen operation.

Is WebbShade a sole source manufacturer of their shades?

Yes. WebbShade is family owned and operated, located in El Cajon, CA. All sales and manufacturing take place within the facility and there are no authorized resellers of any WebbShade proprietary shade systems. Products are shipped directly to the customer from the facility and WebbShade contracts with local vendors for product installation. This process is seamless to the customer and is included in the cost of the shade systems.
